The Grass Withers

This blog will be short. But the words I say will be encouraging to someone and more words won’t be needed.

In 1 Peter the scripture speaks about a LIVING hope. This comes through the resurrection of our Jesus.

It speaks about suffering and trials, and how they have come for the proven GENUINENESS of your faith.

“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious JOY, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8-9

It goes on to say to be holy. But why? What’s the reasoning? Because He is holy. “Be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:16 (later part of verse)

It speaks about being redeemed from the EMPTY way of life by the precious blood of Christ. (1 Peter 1:18-19)

And now this verse stuck out to me and is worth underlining or highlighting or writing in your journal, or writing it on your skin to memorize it…

“All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” 1 Peter 1: 24

You may be feeling pretty weak, confused or broken or maybe strong, powerful, and indestructible…but it says here that the WORD of the LORD ENDURES FOREVER, but all the rest will fade away.

So hold onto that living hope, no matter where you are in life. It’s a new year, and yet we have the same living hope. We have the opportunity to cling to that and be redeemed from the EMPTY way of life by the PRECIOUS blood of Jesus Christ.

I’ve been getting a lot of messages lately filled with prayer requests, questions, suffering and pain…and I don’t have all the answers but what you and I both have is the scriptures that breathes out a LIVING HOPE. And all that this world is, good and bad, will wither, but NOT the word of God.

Praying for you, thankful for you, and love you.

Thanks for reading,
Tay Ruth

Hi, your blog is so encouraging! I love your writing too! And after reading this post I was wondering what Bible that is in the pictures? The margins seem nice and wide for writing, and I’m looking to invest in a nice Bible like that.
